Tina Klein
Tina Klein is currently the Director of Community Outreach at the Atlanta Track Club (ATL). In this role, she is responsible for the Track Club’s fourth and adult training programs, plus working with key stakeholders and community organizations to promote health and fitness through running. She also supports the U.S. Olympic Committee on the Community Olympic Development Program (CODP) and the U.S. Anti-doping Agency;s Coaching Advantage Program.
One of Klein’s passions is fighting childhood obesity and promoting the development of self-esteem and healthy life skills. From scratch, she created the ATC’s Kilometer Kid’s program to partner with the Boys and Girls Club of Atlanta and corporate sponsors to reach children in disadvantaged neighborhoods. ”I’ve used my work experiences to develop a program that reaches youngsters who are affected by childhood obesity. Through fitness and running, we are educating youth in many areas of life, such as physical training, mental awareness, stress relief, even math (i.e. kilometers to miles conversions, etc.) and nutrition. Running is a sport we can do throughout our lifetime, and we want to instill this in the early stages of youth running.”
Klein’s own running and fitness history is impressive beginning with the Army’s 10 mile team, a German Marathon team, and currently as a member of the ATC’s Competitive Women Master’s Team and the adidas Racing Team. She is a certified running coach and a Pilates instructor.
Prior to working for the Atlanta Track Club, Tina served as an officer in the U.S. Army for over ten years, worked as a professional in the U.S. Department of Justice, and represented a major pharmaceutical company as a specialist in women’s health, diabetes, and neuroscience. She has a degree Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Communication from Southwest Texas University, and a Master of Public Administration degree from Troy State University.
